Odd Job, The Tree Specialists, Inc.,
provides professional tree services, including simple and complex tree removal and tree trimming. Odd Job does not offer any chemical spraying, but it does offer deep root fertilization. Eddie Thomas, an ISA-certified arborist, started Odd Job in 1979, and has owned and run the company ever since. Odd Job's crews are very experienced, and several of Eddie's 15 employees have been with him for more than ten years. Eddie oversees all of the estimates, and regularly helps the crews by climbing many of the trees himself. Odd Job's specialty is removing difficult trees over roofs, fences, and driveways. To complete these jobs, Odd Job uses its engineering skills and its state-of-the-art crane/boom trucks. Odd Job is a family business, with Eddie's sister manning the phones and handling most of the bookkeeping. Eddie prides himself on cleanup: "Anybody can cut down a tree; it is cleaning up afterward that sets us apart." His customers agree. Odd Job carries both workers' compensation and liability insurance. As Eddie tells it, "My philosophy is to shoot straight and be honest. I always want to treat people the way I'd want to be treated."
