Paint has three major components. Pigment provides opacity and gives paint its color. The binder, also known as resin, holds the paint’s ingredients together and helps the paint adhere to surfaces. The liquid component of the paint, paint, either water based or solvent based, is engineered to evaporate quickly and give paint its consistency.
