Owner Matt McCurdy, an Atlanta native, started the company in 1995 after working his way through college as a painter. Over time, Matt passed painting duties on to his crew chiefs, who have been with him for more than seven years. "We used to paint together, and I taught them to deliver the level of quality I demand," he says. "When I look at their work, I see my influence." Matt supervises all jobs, handles all the quotes, and completes a walk-through after the work is done. "I like to make sure everything's up to my standards so that the homeowner is assured the best possible experience," he says. This commitment means personal attention to each customer's needs; timely, clean work; and a dedication to use only quality products. Personalized Painting carries workers' compensation and liability insurance. "Anybody can paint," Matt says. "Getting a great paint job is a matter of having the right equipment, the right knowledge, and the right people."
