was founded in 1991 when co-owners Mike Forcey and Steve Miller saw an opportunity to better serve customers in the Atlanta area. "The housing market was booming back then," Mike remembers. "Steve and I started the kind of company we had always wanted to work for." Ivy League is a full-service moving company with a warehouse for storage and experience with local and long-distance moves of all sizes, crating services, and freight moves. The company has now expanded, but for those first years, it was just the two of them and a truck. Mike staffs four or five employees on large moves and encourages them to work to get each job completed as efficiently as possible. "Usually, we can get a move done in one day, regardless of the house size," he says. This pledge sometimes necessitates long hours, but Mike says his employees enjoy their work. "Our guys have real positive attitudes," he says. Ivy League carries workers' compensation and liability insurance; each move also includes free replacement value insurance. Providing little perks, Mike says, is what makes his company stand out from the rest. Mike states, "I got where I am today by taking care of the customer."
