Mark the Mover is a full-service residential and commercial moving company with experience handling everything from small apartments to large houses. Mark the Mover can also haul pool tables, chandeliers, pianos, artwork, antiques, and other awkward items; or the company can store them in its 20,000-square-foot, climate-controlled warehouse. Owner John Warren, who has been in the moving business since 1989, took control of the company in 2001 and built it into the quality operation it is today. He prides himself on his clean-cut workforce of 40 uniformed employees, and he completes background checks on each prospective worker. “For every 30 guys I consider hiring, I put one on the payroll,” he says. “I test them out, and if they’re not good enough, they’re gone.” Many of them have been with John since he took over the company, which has now grown to encompass a fleet of 14 trucks outfitted with GPS navigation systems. Mark the Mover carries both workers’ compensation and liability insurance. The company also performs interstate moves, and crews can be tailored to each individual job. “We match the crews together that will best suit the house we’re doing,” John says.
