The Mad Hatter Air Duct Cleaning & Chimney Sweep
performs chimney cleaning, repair, and rebuilding; Guardian Chimney Liner installation; and air duct cleaning. It was founded in 1978 by the Sparks family and began cleaning Atlanta chimneys in 1989. Kevin Sparks, who runs the Atlanta office, recalls, "I grew up in the business helping my father. I think I was about 14 when I first started working here." The company prides itself on doing quality work. Kevin says, "At The Mad Hatter, we don't recommend taking chances or cutting corners, so safety is a top priority. We do all of our work up to code. We use video cameras to inspect every chimney we clean. There is very little room for error when you're building a fire inside your house. If the chimney's broken, you've got to fix it or not use it." The Mad Hatter is a member of the National Chimney Sweep Guild and the National Fire Protection Association. The company carries workers' compensation and liability insurance, and all employees are uniformed and drive well-marked vehicles. As Kevin summarizes, "We will take care of problems, not just ignore them. We work hard to make you happy."
