When comparing quotes, the key factor to consider is the R-value of the insulation added.  Because of density and other engineered product differences, some insulation brands provide a greater R-value per inch of thickness than others.  The R-value per inch of thickness is usually not an issue in an attic, as an equivalent R-value can easily be created by adding additional thickness.  Competent insulation contractors will have formula cards from the insulation manufacturers, which specify how many bags of insulation must be spread on a specific size of area to achieve the desired R-value.
