In the past three years, we have conducted 15,592 phone interviews with metro-Atlanta homeowners who have first-hand experience with home service providers. These interviews resulted in 94,986 individual company reviews. Our research process is ongoing. Each year we conduct more than 4,500 new interviews as part of our primary research. This goal is often surpassed, as it was in the most recent year's research when we completed 5,366 interviews with metro-Atlanta homeowners.
Homeowners offer us their testimonials and are often very candid when expressing their opinions, knowing that their feedback will be kept confidential and that the interviewer is not employed by contractors.
We never accept reference lists from companies. In certain circumstances, when our primary research reveals that a company has a high percentage of satisfied customers yet a limited number of reviews, we sometimes conduct secondary research, sampling from the business's entire database and randomly calling customers. If we contact a company to do secondary research, there is no cost or commitment on the part of the company for the research. All of our research is paid for and owned by Probix Inc.
To maintain third-party objectivity, we base our ratings entirely on research that is conducted by our own employees in our research center at 1750 Peachtree Street. We do not incorporate research that is conducted elsewhere. We also carefully screen prospective employees for connections to contractors, to prevent conflicts of interest. No Home Reports owner or employee holds an ownership stake in any home service or repair company, including those listed as Best Picks.
Home Reports conducts interviews throughout the metro-Atlanta area; our interview totals include those conducted across the entire metro area. Most of the companies identified in our research conduct business throughout the metro area. When rating a company, we combine all reviews about that contractor, regardless of where services were performed. A company cannot obtain a good rating in one location and a bad rating in another.
